What is Gemmotherapy? Gemmotherapy is an advanced form of Phytotherapy that uses embryonic plant tissue of buds, new shoots and rootlets in tincture form. This very young plant tissue is extremly potent in life force, and works deeply in the areas of detoxification and rejuvenation. Gemmotherapy is particularly effective for drainage due to its detoxifying actions on the body. Gemmotherapy was created in the 1960s by Dr Pol Henry, a Belgian doctor. He published his research findings and clinical results in 1970, calling this new therapy "Phytoembryothérapie".
This discipline was further detailed and developed by Max Tetau, a French homeopath, who also gave it a new name, "Gemmotherapy". This term derives from the Latin 'gemmae' which means both, plant bud and precious stone, and is the name now universally adopted. Embryonic Plants Versus Adult Plants Just as human beings have had the chance to accumulate toxins, the same is true for plants which, in the course of their lives, have collected toxins contained within the soil and atmosphere. Buds and rootlets of plants have significantly less toxins than the adult plants. Embryonic plants carry all the genetic information of the future plant which, once matured, is no longer present. Buds, new shoots, and rootlets of plants contain plant stem cells, called Meristems, and plant growth hormones, Auxins, and Gibberellins. These hormones cause tissue excitation, which stimulate toxin release from tissues and cells of the body, thus aiding in detoxification. The plant growth hormones provide anti-aging benefits by regenerating the tissue cells of the body. Who Can Benefit From Detoxification With Gemmotherapy? We live in a toxic world. Our body must deal with a variety of toxins every day. Every one of us can benefit from detoxification. In particular, detoxification is important for those who:
